VIA Disc

VIA Disc is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat herniated discs and associated back pain. The procedure involves the use of a special catheter that is inserted through a small incision in the back and guided to the affected disc using fluoroscopy or X-ray imaging.

Once the catheter is in place, a small amount of saline solution is injected into the disc, which creates a negative pressure inside the disc. This negative pressure helps to draw the herniated or bulging portion of the disc back into its proper position, relieving pressure on the surrounding nerves and reducing pain.

VIA Disc is typically used to treat herniated discs in the lumbar region of the spine, which can cause lower back pain, leg pain, and other symptoms. The procedure is minimally invasive, meaning it requires only a small incision and typically involves less pain, scarring, and downtime than traditional open surgery.

VIA Disc is generally considered safe and effective, but as with any medical procedure, there are potential risks and complications, such as infection, bleeding, or nerve damage. It's important to discuss the risks and benefits of VIA Disc with your healthcare provider to determine if it's an appropriate treatment option for your specific condition and needs.
